Vernaccia di San Gimignano DOCG
Mentioned by Dante and drunk by Popes, Vernaccia has been grown in this area since the 1200s.
A distinctive, unoaked, dry white wine with a colour of light straw yellow.
Fine, young example of a Vernaccia. A characteristic floral nose of almond blossom, mimosa with herbaceous notes. A fresh. dry taste with a good body, crisp green apple acidity, and a bitter almond aftertaste which Vernaccia is known for.
Vernaccia is one of the few Italian white wines that improve with age.
Here at the vineyard, we like to serve this Vernaccia with our antipasti.
Michelangelo said a good Vernaccia “Kisses, licks, bites and stings”
