A splendid row of cypress trees lining an unsurfaced drive leads to the top of a hill facing San Gimignano, the very beautiful middle-aged town known as “The City of Towers”, only 4.5km away.
Fattoria Il Piano lies in this magnificent position and is composed of the owner’s villa with its own chapel, and two traditional Tuscan farmhouses nearby that have been restored to provide comfortable, good-quality apartments, all with newly installed air conditioning. For relaxing there is a beautiful panoramic swimming pool.
The view from this hilltop estate is one of the loveliest in Tuscany, over trees, vineyards, and olive groves to the facing hillside with the medieval hamlet of Montauto and the towers of San Gimignano clearly visible over the valley.
The Fattoria has 180 hectares of vineyards, olive groves, agricultural land, and woods, therefore guests are free to wander around the huge estate where there are good country walks or you can explore the area on a mountain bike available for hire locally.
The swimming pool (14m x 7m) is well-positioned and looks out across sunflowers fields, vineyards, and olive groves to the distant hills. The pool is furnished with sunbeds and sun umbrellas and there is a handy changing room with shower and WC.
Also available for guest use is a barbecue, E-bike charging station and utility room with a washing machine.
CASA BUGNO
Casa Bugno is a splendid country stone house in the typical Tuscan style, located on the top of the cypress-lined avenue which leads to our vineyard, it has beautiful panoramic views looking out over Montauto village and the towers of San Gimignano.
Casa Bugno has been completely restored, it is divided into 3 comfortable apartments and is surrounded by a large garden enriched by an antique well and a large barbecue area.
CASA TOSCA
Casa Tosca is an old farmhouse in a classic Tuscan style, restored and separated into 6 comfortable apartments.
The house overlooks a large garden and an old farm courtyard where guests can sunbathe, relax, read, or have their meals.
All this is then complemented by the wonderful old barn which has now been transformed into a meeting room with TV and a large fireplace for moments of relaxation or passing pleasant moments in company.
